Whitmore Bay

Barry Island’s Whitmore Bay is ideal for a fun, family day out at all times of the year. The award winning, Blue Flag beach has golden sand and fascinating rock pools home to crabs, limpets and barnacles. Famous for the TV show Gavin and Stacey, it offers a beautiful spot to enjoy an ice-cream, build sandcastles and go for a paddle. Bucket and spade anyone? Wander along the limestone headland for fantastic views of the wider Severn Estuary. It makes up part of the Wales Coast Path – keen to explore more? Visit the Glamorgan Heritage Coast that stretches from Aberthaw to Porthcawl. Cold Knap beach and Jackson Bay are also not to miss if you are in the area.

Bae Whitmore

Mae Bae Whitmore yn Ynys y Barri yn ddelfrydol am ddiwrnod allan gyda’r teulu ar unrhyw adeg o’r flwyddyn. Mae tywod euraidd y traeth, sydd wedi ennill Baner Las, a’r pyllau glan môr yn gartref i grancod, cregyn meheryn a chregyn llong. Yn enwog diolch i’r sioe deledu Gavin and Stacey, mae’n llecyn hardd i fwynhau hufen iâ, adeiladu cestyll tywod a phadlo. Bwced a rhaw unrhyw un? Ewch am dro ar hyd y pentir calchfaen am olygfeydd godidog o Aber Afon Hafren. Mae’n rhan o Lwybr Arfordir Cymru – os hoffech weld mwy, ewch i Arfordir Treftadaeth Morgannwg sy’n ymestyn o Aberddawan i Borthcawl. Mae traeth Cold Knap a Bae Jackson hefyd yn llefydd hyfryd na ddylech eu methu tra eich bod yn yr ardal.
