Oldbury-on-Severn

Explore the countryside of South Gloucestershire. Oldbury-on- Severn is a small, picturesque village with a thriving community spirit. Follow the Severn Way to the riverside by Thornbury Sailing Club. Stand on the bank for a unique snapshot of the estuary, with views down to Aust, across to Gloucester, of both Severn Bridges and Oldbury Power Station. The surrounding coastal fields offer excellent opportunities to spot internationally important birdlife. Ducks, waders and migratory birds all use and travel through the area. Nearby is the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust’s Slimbridge Wetland Centre (see website), offering the chance to enjoy amazing wildlife up-close.
