Purton Hulks

Time to discover the history and stories of the sunken ships at Purton Hulks – the largest “ships’ graveyard” in the UK! In 1909, a small fleet of timber lighters were beached here to strengthen the canal bank, protecting it from eroding away by the tide. Now it is home to over 80 boats buried here – the largest collection of maritime artefacts on the foreshore of Britain! Friends of Purton provide guided tours – see our website for more information.

Mae nawr yn gartref i fwy nag 80 o gychod – y casgliad mwyaf o arteffactau morol ym Mhrydain! Mae Cyfeillion Purton yn cynnig teithiau tywys – ewch i’n gwefan am ragor o wybodaeth.
