Time to Explore: You are invited to sign up to the Severn Estuary Partnership’s workshop to explore cross-border marine planning in the Severn Estuary and Bristol Channel in order to inform marine planning practice and the development of associated planning guidance. It will be held on 3rd December in Bristol at Brunel’s SS Great Britain.
The workshop will aim to explore, in the context of marine planning, cross-border issues between:
- Countries: Wales and England, and the emerging Marine Plans: the Welsh National Marine Plan (WNMP) and the South West Marine Plan (SWMP)
- The Land and the Sea: How can we move to a more joined up system?
- Our Existing Planning Landscape: Coordinating marine plans with other regional, Severn Estuary-focussed plans such as the Severn Estuary Shoreline Management Plan 2 (SMP) and the Severn River Basin Management Plan (RBMP), among others.
The event is aimed at English and Welsh organisations with statutory planning powers, as well as stakeholders with an interest in a wide range of coastal and marine issues and how these might be affected by marine planning. The workshop will be delivered as part of the Marine Management Organisation’s Enhancing Stakeholder Engagement project, funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.
Full workshop details will be published shortly, but sign up here (or email email@example.com) in the meantime to ensure that you reserve your place. The event is FREE, but spaces will be on a first come, first served basis.
