Severn Estuary Partnership Maps

The following maps were reproduced for two separate SEP reports, the Severn Estuary Strategy report (Autumn 2001), and the more recent State of the Severn Estuary Report (Autumn 2011). It was felt that visitors to the website would benefit from these maps being showcased on the site to gain a deeper understanding as to the dynamic nature of the Severn Estuary. To understand the context behind the maps, visitors are encouraged to explore the reports which contain these maps.

Maps of the State of the Severn Estuary Report

Published in 2011 by the Severn Estuary Partnership and Cardiff University, in collaboration with the Environment Agency (Wales). With support from the Interreg IVb IMCORE project, the report has been developed to incorporate contributions from the University’s lecturers, local industries, stakeholders and even Estuary residents – such as Miranda Krestovnikoff, presenter of the BBC’s Coast series – who kindly wrote the foreword and launched the summary document at the 2011 annual Severn Estuary Forum. This document is set to be the first in a series that reports on the state of and changes in the natural and human environment of the Severn Estuary, establishing baseline data in the context of climate and other coastal change. Maps of the Severn Estuary Strategy report

Published in 2001, the Severn Estuary Strategy report outlined Policy recommendations and Proposals for Action for the Estuary, and along with key stakeholders and partners has produced a Consultation Draft for the Strategy for the Severn Estuary. As a result of this consultation and the co-ordinated efforts of many key partners in dealing with the responses, numerous appropriate changes were incorporated into the final Strategy for the Severn Estuary.
